What is an EXO-L ankle brace and how does it work?

The EXO-L ankle brace is a 3D printed ankle protection and prevent your ankle from inversion strain. The brace sits above the ankle bones and is attached with a cord to an attachment on the shoe.

The moment you’re about to sprain, the brace immediately activates. Like the seat belt in a car, the cord of the EXO-L brace only tightens when you the specific inversion movement and the sprain will be prevented.

This protection for your ankle is more effective than a standard ankle brace or tape. A standard ankle brace or tape are tight all around the ankle and not comfortable wearing a shoe. A brace and tape unnecessarily restrict movement in other directions, can cause irritation or cramp and can negatively affect your sports performance. The brace will save you time, it only takes a minute to put on. And will save you money in the long run when you need to tape your ankle frequently.

The EXO-L is attached to the outside of your shoe and will not cause irritation or cramp. The custom-made brace becomes an extension of your own body. The brace leaves you free to make all sports movements without restrictions.

How do I order an EXO-L ankle brace in The Hague?

No referral from your GP is required to get fitted with a personal EXO-L ankle brace. You make a scan appointment with one of our specialized colleagues. Please bring the shoe you’ll be using. The appointment takes about 15 minutes, we will do an intake and make a 3D scan of your ankle(s). The data from the scan will be sent to EXO-L and a 3D printer will make your personal EXO-L brace. At the follow-up appointment, the brace will be fitted, we will explain how to use the EXO-L and if desired you can get advice for further strengthening of your ankle.

EXO-L single brace for single shoe - €150,00 including VAT
EXO-L ankle brace per pair - €250,00 including VAT

The above prices include shoe adjustment. An additional shoe adjustment costs €12.50 per shoe. The standard colour of the EXO-L ankle brace is grey, for an additional price a colour of your choice is possible. For hockey, a custom shin guard can be ordered.
