Ultrasound at your physio in The Hague

Within our physio practice in the Statenkwartier, physiotherapists Berend Kaster and Ward van Rijssen are certified ultrasound technicians with many years of experience. We use ultrasound in examining the status of the affected soft tissue which might cause your pain complaints. In our own practice we have our own ultrasound equipment. The treating physiotherapist uses the ultrasound as an additional diagnostic examination in addition to the regular evaluation. With an ultrasound, it is possible to quickly and clearly determine the status of the affected soft tissue which might cause your pain complaints.

When do you need an ultrasound at our physio practice?

With an ultrasound, tissue, such as tendons, muscles, bursa and ligaments bands can be very clearly visualised. With an ultrasound, the physiotherapist can quickly and clearly determine the status of the affected soft tissue which might cause your pain complaints. With the additional results from the ultrasound, we will be able to give you a better advise and more comprehensive treatment plan for your symptoms. This will help you to recover from your complaints even faster.

It’s good to know that people with pacemakers, implants or pregnant women can have an ultrasound without problems!

How does an ultrasound work?

For the ultrasound, our physiotherapist uses an ultrasound head and applies gel to it and moves the ultrasound head over the affected area. The examined soft tissue is visualized by the reflected sound waves, you can see the images live on a monitor. The examination is silent, does not hurt and is not harmful to the body. The total time of the appointment will be 30 minutes in which our physiotherapist explain the results of the examination with you as well.

Will the ultrasound be reimbursed by my health insurance?

Making an ultrasound is part of a physiotherapy treatment without additional costs. We advise you to check with your health insurance plan for coverage of physiotherapy.
